MACCRAY is located in the heart of the prairie in Central Minnesota.  The district is comprised of three schools, all located on Highway 23.  The two elementary schools are located in Maynard and Raymond.  Seventh through twelfth grade students attend the high school in Clara City.  We are approximately 20 miles East of Willmar and about 90 miles West of the Twin Cities.  Whether you like to golf, hunt, fish, snowmobile, or enjoy nice restaurants and shopping you can do all of these activities within our three communities or within 30 miles of our three towns.

Teaching Positions
Science Teacher (Long Term Substitute)
MACCRAY High School, located in Clara City, Minnesota is looking to hire a temporary science teacher.  The position would begin approximately January 21st and would be a six to seven week position.  This position would include teaching three sections of Earth Science (grade 8), two sections of Physical Science (grade 9), one section each of Chemistry (grade 11) and Anatomy (grades 11 and 12).  Candidates should be licensed as a science teacher or as a substitute.  Interested candidates should send an email with a letter of interest and a copy of his/her teaching license to Principal Sparks sparksm@maccray.k12.mn.us

Creating Entrepernerial Opportunities Teacher (Part Time)
The MACCRAY, RCW and KMS school districts are looking to hire a teacher for our Creating Entrepreneurial Opportunities (CEO) class that will begin in the fall of 2020.   The goal of the CEO class is for participating students to have an entrepreneurial opportunity to learn from our business leaders in our communities while in high school. 

The CEO  class is not a traditional high school class. Eighteen to twenty-two juniors or seniors will be selected through a rigorous application process to participate in the year-long class.  Instead of students learning about entrepreneurship in a classroom setting, students will visit twenty to thirty local businesses throughout the year and have fifty to sixty guest speakers.  Students will be creating their own businesses and presenting their business proposals  to local banking investors and entrepreneurs via private meetings and then showcase their business at the annual trade show.  Students will graduate from this class owning a business.  This class will run ninety minutes a day from 7:15-8:45 am. 

This position will be a part-time position. The teacher for this position will work directly with all of the area businesses.  He/she will teach the students using a hands on/project based approach to teaching this course.  The ideal candidate will have great communication skills, be outgoing and engaging, and will also be able to make strong connections with area businesses while developing strong relationships with the students in the class.  Furthermore, candidates for this position should have vitality for education, understand child developmental levels of high school students, be highly competent in application of many types of technology uses and be able to apply business skills to first hand experiential learning. Candidates for the position should hold a teaching license or be able to obtain licensure.  Experience in education is preferred.

7-12 Ag Teacher (1.0 FTE)
MACCRAY High School, located in Clara City, MN is expanding its Agriculture Program! We are looking to hire a full time (1.0 FTE) Agriculture teacher to our program for the 2020-2021 school year and beyond.  The position will also receive a 15 day extended contract to work with the FFA program outside of regular school hours.

Current offerings in our Ag program include: Introductory to Ag class for all 7th graders, and an Exploratory Ag class for 9th grade students. Additional offerings include: Minnesota Wildlife, Small Engines, Ag physics (year long), Food Chemistry (year long), machine woodworking, animal science and welding.  As we look to double the size of our ag program with the addition of a second full-time ag instructor, we would like to add the following courses to the program (which would be split between the two instrucctors): 8th grade ag, 9th grade woods, construction skills, agricultural leadership, animal care - vet science, ag entrepreneurship and workplace skills, crop and soil science, and an advanced woodworking class.  (These are just a few examples.)

MACCRAY High School has a very well-established and well-known agriculture program.  We currently offer agronomy and animal science on alternating years for college credit.  We also have an extensive  FFA program with 65+ active members.  It should also be noted that, through a major building project, the existing ag area will be completely renovated with an addition added on to expand the size of the current department.  We will have state of the art equipment that will meet industry standards included in the renovation and addition of our ag agrea.  The MACCRAY AG Department also has great outdoor learning areas such as a wildlife plot, 20+ acre research plot, 30' X 90' greenhouse, small orchard and school garden.

Paraprofessional
MACCRAY Public Schools is accepting applications for one (1) High School and two (2) Elementary Paraprofessionals.  Paraprofessionals assist our teachers to help develop the next generation through specialized curriculums. You will work closely with the teacher in your assigned classroom and support them in their duties. Elementary Classroom Assistant

Substitutes
